The Fear Factor – A major Coronavirus myth debunked

The coronavirus, also called COVID-19 is the talk and has put a high level of fear in people all across the world due to its seemingly unstoppable transmission. There have been some myths circulating with regards to the virus which would be debunked below:

The virus cannot be transmitted in areas with hot and humid climates.It should be noted that there is no evidence that the COVID-19 virus cannot be transmitted in hot and humid areas. With the increasing number of confirmed cases in Africa, it can be said that the virus can be transmitted in all areas regardless of the climate. Hence, protective measures should be adopted to minimize your risk of contacting the virus.  The best way to protect yourself against COVID-19 is by frequently cleaning your hands by washing it woth soap and water and wiping them dry completely with clean paper towels, or an alcohol based hand sanitizer. By doing this you eliminate viruses that may be on your hands. You should also avoid being in contact with people showing signs like sneezing, and coughing.
